Biofeedback
Biofeedback is a method used by specialists in several different fields of healthcare. Basically, biofeedback, is a technique in which people are trained to use the signals from their own bodies to improve their personal health. Usually these signals are read by a machine. A biofeedback machine can be as simple as a thermometer or as complex as an electromyogram.
The goal of biofeedback is to train the mind to influence many of the involuntary functions of the body. Specialists of biofeedback use machines to monitor your bodies functions and responses. Once those are established, you can use that information to treat and even overcome many physical and mental problems.
Biofeedback is appealing because it may eliminate the need for medication. Using this method of treatment puts you in charge of your health and allows you to monitor your progress in measurable ways. Often we are inspired to continue practicing therapeutic techniques when we can 'see' our progress.
